Dermaplaning
Right now, you have layers of dead skin cells sitting on the surface of your skin. These cells contribute to the visible signs of aging, including lines and creases, dull skin tone, uneven texture, hyperpigmentation, or blemishes. Dermaplaning is a method of physical exfoliation that is performed using a specialized scalpel. The tool is held at a 45-degree angle to the surface of your skin to gently slough away layers of dead skin cells and vellus hair revealing baby-soft skin underneath. Once the dead skin cells have been swept away, your skincare products become more effective, makeup can be applied more smoothly, and your skin is left with a healthy, fresh glow.

BOTOX
-
BOTOX in Charlotte: What is It?
BOTOX is a neuromodulator that has been approved for cosmetic use. It is immensely popular and has proven to be extremely effective in smoothing facial lines and wrinkles. If you’re considering BOTOX in Charlotte, NC, you want to ensure the injections are performed correctly. This is why you should only work with a licensed and experienced injector, like our team members at Beck Aesthetic Surgery.
-
Key Benefits of BOTOX
By temporarily relaxing key facial muscles, BOTOX helps achieve a youthful, smooth complexion, reducing wrinkles and fine lines. Other benefits include the following:
- Results appear quickly
- Minimal recovery period
- Short, safe, simple treatment
- Effectively reduces the appearance of facial lines and wrinkles
- Non-surgical treatment with very few risks involved
- Convenient treatments with little downtime
- Helps prevent wrinkles from developing in the future
-
Beck Aesthetic Surgery in Charlotte, NC for BOTOX
At the Beck Aesthetic Surgery medspa, we focus on creating the most natural outcomes for our patients — including those who rely on BOTOX to maintain a youthful and refreshed facial appearance. Our expert injectors are highly-skilled in administering BOTOX and known for their ability to create a smoother appearance that looks natural, never overdone or frozen.
-
How BOTOX Works
BOTOX is injected into the muscles in extremely tiny amounts, and immediately goes to work by preventing the release of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine to slow communication between nerve cells and muscles located at the injection site. As a result, the muscles relax and soften. Because these muscles are unable to contract to the degree they did prior to treatment, the lines and creases the muscles created are now smooth. The result is a more pleasant, open, and youthful look.
-
Uses for BOTOX
BOTOX is used to treat over two dozen different medical conditions — including migraines, excessive sweating, and teeth grinding — and more applications are being discovered every year. However, its primary use is for cosmetic purposes. BOTOX can effectively target the following common concerns:
- Horizontal forehead lines
- Crow’s feet
- Bunny lines at the nose
- Asymmetrical brows
- A gummy smile
- Necklace lines
- An overly prominent jaw or chin
- Vertical worry lines between the brows
-
Other Uses for BOTOX
BOTOX is a versatile treatment that can be used for a range of cosmetic purposes, including smoothing wrinkles or achieving an attractive pout with a Lip Flip. BOTOX is also used to treat the following:
- Migraines
- TMJ
- Joint pain
- Allergy symptoms
- Crossed eyes
- An overactive bladder
- Excessive sweating
-
BOTOX vs. Filler
BOTOX is designed to smooth wrinkles and achieve a more youthful appearance. Filler adds plumpness and volume to the lips, cheeks or other areas. It can also help to smooth wrinkles by filling gaunt areas where creases have appeared.
BOTOX is typically used on the upper half of the face. Fillers are generally used for the lower half of the face. Based on your aesthetic needs and goals, Dr. Beck will provide his opinion on which injectable is best for you, or whether a combination of these injectable treatments might be most suited to your needs. -
Preventative Uses of BOTOX for Wrinkles
BOTOX prevents the constant facial muscle motions that create dynamic wrinkles. By slowing the wear on your skin from constant creasing, BOTOX has the ability to prevent the development of many facial lines and wrinkles from forming in the first place. Many individuals are choosing to undergo BOTOX treatments in their 20s to ward off the development of facial wrinkles between the brows, on the forehead, and around the eyes. These injections can keep your face looking smooth and wrinkle-free for years longer than nature would intend.
-
When Should I Start Getting BOTOX?
You can start getting BOTOX injections even before you develop any wrinkles as a preventative measure, or when you notice lines and wrinkles starting to appear. The average age for patients to start getting BOTOX treatments is in their 30s or 40s. As the skin ages and develops lines, wrinkles, and creases as a result of constant facial motions, BOTOX can have a wonderful smoothing effect, leaving you looking youthful and refreshed.
-
What is the Procedure for a BOTOX Treatment?
BOTOX treatments require skills in both science and aesthetics to produce smooth, youthful, and natural-looking results. As there are 43 muscles in the human face, it is imperative that your injector has a detailed understanding of facial anatomy and where exactly to inject BOTOX for the most natural look. Your treatment must be performed by an expert injector at a highly reputable clinic.
You can expect the following at your BOTOX treatment:
- Your skin will be cleansed and prepped.
- A very thin needle is used to place BOTOX into the targeted muscles.
- With exact placement of the product, only the overactive facial muscles that are causing lines and wrinkles are affected.
- The treatment requires little time, typically 15 to 30 minutes.
- The number of injections depends on the size a type of area under treatment (wrinkles around the eyes may require several tiny injections; brow creases may require more).
-
Is there a Recovery Time?
Because no anesthesia is required, BOTOX in Charlotte, NC do not involve any downtime. The majority of patients go back to their regular day after treatment, but you may experience a headache, nausea, a droopy eyelid, soreness, swelling, and/or bruising and numbness at the injection sites. Avoid the following:
- Icing or applying makeup (one hour)
- Lying down flat or yoga (four hours)
- Massaging or pressure at the treated area (24 hours)
- Pets or kids near the treated area (24 hours)
- Anything that makes you hot (saunas, hot tubs, exercise) for two days
- Consuming alcohol or blood-thinning medications/supplements (two days)
Facials (one week)
-
When will I See Results from BOTOX?
The results from BOTOX injections develop gradually over three to seven days as the muscles become less and less active. The start of the smoothing effect appears at about three days after treatment, with optimal effecst at two or three weeks after treatment.
If you’re planning on having BOTOX done for a special occasion or event, it’s best to schedule your treatment at least two weeks before the event so you look your best. The time it will take BOTOX to take effect can vary depending on whether you’re undergoing your first treatment or if you regularly undergo BOTOX injections. -
How Long do Results Last?
The results of a BOTOX can last between three to six months before subsiding. We recommended scheduling another treatment before the results go away so that you can maintain your smooth, youthful look. You can schedule a treatment as soon as three months after your initial injections. This time in between treatments is necessary to allow you to enjoy the results of BOTOX without developing resistance to the active ingredient. You may notice that with regular treatments, only one or two treatments a year is all you need.
-
Am I a Good Candidate for BOTOX Treatments?

Medically, almost anyone is a candidate unless you have a specific reaction to BOTOX or are undergoing other medical treatment that might conflict with this treatment. - Excessive sweating in the armpits, hands or feet
-
Dysport vs. BOTOX
Both Dysport and BOTOX are neuromodulators with similar active ingredients, but they have been developed with slightly different formulas. The thinner formula in Dysport is often the injectable of choice for those who want a more subtle, natural-looking result. Dysport injections are known to last longer, work faster, get a more relaxed and natural look, and allow more facial expressiveness to be maintained. However, because of the thinner formula, more Dysport may be required than BOTOX.
- Dysport is about 20% less expensive than BOTOX, but may require more of the product
- BOTOX may take longer to show noticeable results than Dysport
- Both Dysport and BOTOX require a touch-up after a few months
- Dysport’s formula is thinner and diffuses more quickly, creating a more natural look for some patients
-
Dysport Treatment: What to Expect
A Dysport treatment takes only a few minutes to perform. Before the injections, we will cleanse and prep your skin. The locations of the injections and how many you receive will depend on the depth of your lines, wrinkles, and creases.
Your face will be cleansed and the injections will be administered into targeted areas of the face. Dysport injections are almost completely painless. The needle we use is thin and feels like a small pinch as the Dysport is injected. After the injections are complete, we will ask you to make different facial expressions so the Dysport can settle properly.
The care with which we perform injections makes the difference in results. At the Beck Aesthetic Surgery medspa, all procedures are performed under the guidance of Dr. Joel Beck, one of the most accomplished plastic surgeons in the area.Preparing for a Dysport treatment
No special preparation is needed to be ready for Dysport injections. We recommend not drinking alcohol or taking blood-thinning medications for 48 hours before your appointment, as these can cause bruising. We suggest bringing a photo of yourself from 5 to 10 years to help your injector understand your aesthetic goals and have a good idea of your youthful appearance.
-
When will I see my results?
You will begin to see results develop over two to three days. Complete results will take about a week to develop. Once your final results are visible, you will be able to enjoy this youthful, refreshed effect for three to five months–in the case of less severe wrinkles, possibly longer.
Over time, your results will begin to fade. At this point, return for another brief treatment. As you have consistent sessions, you may notice you require smaller doses and less frequent treatments. -

Juvéderm
-
What is Juvéderm?
Juvéderm is a dermal filler: a hyaluronic acid-based injectable treatment that supplements the body’s natural hyaluronic acid (which diminishes with age) to help restore structure and volume in aging skin. A remarkably improved, more youthful look can be achieved with even just one session. Using innovative Hylacross™ technology, Juvéderm gels are versatile and offer a smooth, malleable consistency for enhanced results.
-
Key Benefits of Juvéderm
- Smooths lines and wrinkles and adds soft, natural volume
- Smooth gel for a soft, natural consistency
- Treatments are quick and convenient
- Minimal discomfort during and after treatment
- Contains lidocaine for comfortable treatment
- Immediate results
- Very little downtime and side effects are rare
-
Restore Your Skin with Juvéderm: How it Works
Young skin looks fresh, plump, and supple due to a high concentration of hyaluronic acid, which supports healthy collagen and overall skin structure and volume. As the body ages, natural hyaluronic acid production slows down and the skin starts to lose that fresh, supple quality. Lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin develop soon after. When injected, Juvéderm replenishes the lost hyaluronic acid in the skin and restores a more youthful, fresh appearance by plumping up the skin from underneath — thereby smoothing lines and wrinkles.
-
Which areas of the face is Juvéderm used to treat?
Juvéderm helps to smooth wrinkles and restore lost facial volume in various areas of the face. Facial volume is lost as a natural part of the aging process, resulting in hollows or sunken spots in the cheeks, under the eyes, or in other places.
Juvéderm is used to restore this lost volume and achieve a plumper, more supple appearance in the following areas:
- Lips
- Lines and wrinkles around the mouth
- Hollow or sunken cheeks
- Marionette lines from the corners of the mouth to the chin
- Dark circles under the eyes
- Bags under the eyes
- Nasolabial folds from the corners of the mouth to the sides of the nose
-
The Juvéderm Line of Fillers: Which is Right for You?
The Juvéderm line is available in several custom formulas, each developed to treat a specific facial area:
- Juvéderm XC: Addresses lines and wrinkles around nose and mouth
- Juvéderm Ultra: Corrects mild to moderate lines and wrinkles and delivers subtle lip augmentation
- Juvéderm Ultra Plus: Corrects deeper wrinkles, lines, and hollows. Provides volume and lift for the cheeks and jawline, and lips
- Juvéderm Voluma XC: Developed to correct age-related loss of volume in the cheeks for a more youthful appearance
- Juvéderm Ultra XC: Adds fullness and volume to thinning lips and creates definition
- Juvéderm Vollure XC: The perfect filler for laugh lines and marionette lines
- Juvéderm Volbella: Corrects fine lines around the mouth and under the eyes; improves the lips and the lip border
-
Candidates: Is Juvéderm Right for You?
If you’re interested in Juvéderm in Charlotte, NC, the first step is to schedule a consultation with us so we can evaluate the current condition of your skin and the areas that need treatment. However, in general, the best patients for Juvéderm are those who:
- Want to non-surgically improve lines, wrinkles, sagging skin, or thin lips
- Are over the age of 21
- Are not pregnant or breastfeeding
- Do not have a bleeding disorder
- Do not have an active skin infection
- Do not have an allergy to gram-positive bacterial proteins
- Do not have an allergy to lidocaine
-
Preparing for your Juvéderm treatment
To prepare for your Juvéderm treatment, do not drink alcohol or take blood-thinning medications in the days leading up to your injections. Stay out of the sun and avoid any type of treatment that might irritate your skin, such as exfoliating treatments or chemical peels.
We will start with a consultation to discuss your aesthetic goals and review your medical history. We will evaluate your skin and recommend the best dermal filler treatment for you from our wide range of options. Each filler has unique characteristics and benefits. If your aesthetic goals would be better achieved with a filler other than Juvéderm, we will recommend the best filler option for you. -
How long will my results last?
You will be smoother, plumper skin immediately after your Juvéderm treatment. You will notice that wrinkles and lines fade, and your skin is smoother, plumper, and more supple. After about two weeks, you will see the final effects. From there, you will enjoy long-lasting results for up to 18 months. As time passes, your body will naturally and safely reabsorb the filler as the soft volume slowly fades. At that point, you can renew your results with a follow-up appointment.
-

Restylane
-
What is Restylane?
Restylane is very effective in smoothing lines and wrinkles, without sacrificing your natural expressiveness. For wrinkle-smoothing, lip enhancement, or rejuvenating aging hands, one of the Restylane line of fillers may be the perfect solution – when your treatment is performed by our expert injectors at Beck Aesthetic Surgery in Charlotte, NC.
Youthful, lovely, fresh and natural
Restylane fillers are based on hyaluronic acid. This filler substance plumps and adds volume to facial areas. Hyaluronic acid, a substance that occurs naturally in your body, is responsible for the elasticity and hydration of your skin. We produce less and less hyaluronic acid as we age. Because of this, wrinkles and fine lines form, volume is lost, and a sunken appearance appears.
Injecting small amounts of Restylane into the targeted areas restores a supple, fresh, youthful appearance.
-
Restylane treatment areas
Restylane can be used on the hands and chest to smooth the skin and achieve a more youthful appearance.
Restylane is commonly used to add smooth, youthful volume to the following facial areas:
- Nasolabial folds
- Marionette lines
- Lips
- Smoker’s lines
- Sunken cheeks
- Dark circles around the eyes
-
The Restylane Line of Injectables
The developers of Restylane have created several formulas to treat different issues:
- Restylane: This filler can add volume to smooth lines and wrinkles and folds, and for lip enhancement.
- Restylane Defyne: The perfect dermal filler to smooth deep laugh lines, while maintaining natural facial expression.
- Restylane Refyne: To soften laugh lines and marionette lines (from sides of mouth to chin).
- Restylane Lyft: For hand rejuvenation and a natural-looking restoration of cheek volume, this formula works wonders.
- Restylane Kysse: For lip enhancement with natural-looking volume.
-
Is Restylane right for me?
We will have a private consultation with you to understand your aesthetic vision and the changes you want to achieve. We provide a wide selection of dermal fillers, each with its own benefits. During your consultation, we will examine your skin and recommend the best filler for your skin type and your aesthetic needs. If Restylane is the right choice, we will move forward with this filler. If another filler would be best, we will recommend this to you. We take the time to design a customized treatment plan for every patient.
-
What is a Restylane Treatment Like?
Before your treatment, we recommend avoiding alcohol or blood-thinning medications for a few days to help minimize bruising or swelling. Your treatment will take less than an hour from start to finish.
Treatment begins with a private consultation to discuss your aesthetic goals. From there, we will thoroughly cleanse your skin. If you prefer a local anesthetic, we will apply it for your comfort. The Restylane gel is carefully injected with an ultrafine needle in the desired treatment areas. The Restylane formula is made with a mild anesthetic, making the treatment more comfortable. You will notice immediate results–smoothed lines and wrinkles, plumper lips, more youthful hands, or other desired changes. -
What to Expect After Treatment with Restylane
There is no waiting for results – you will see improvements directly after treatment. Aftercare involves only a few directions:
- Avoid aspirin, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications (Ibuprofen) and some supplements, as these could increase bruising.
- Use cold compresses to reduce any swelling. Do not rub the treatment area.
- Avoid intense heat or cold.
- Side effects, when present, are mild. They may include swelling, redness, some pain or bruising. You may also experience tenderness or itching in the treatment area. In most cases, these side effects disappear in less than a week for treatments to the face and about two weeks for lip treatments.
Radiesse
-
What is Radiesse?
A Collagen-Stimulating Dermal Filler
Although Radiesse is a dermal filler, it stands apart from others because it triggers your body to build new collagen, which not all dermal fillers do. This semi-permanent, highly effective volumizing treatment plumps the skin, firms loose facial skin, and decreases wrinkles.
-
Key Benefits of Radiesse
- Provides youthful volume to the face and hands
- Stimulates your body’s production of natural collagen
- Lifts sagging facial skin such as the cheeks
- Reduces the appearance of nasolabial folds and marionette lines
- Better defines lax jowls
- Volumizes the backs of the hands
- Provides more lift and has staying power than most dermal fillers
- Achieves a natural-looking outcome
- Delivers instant results as well as gradual volume improvement
- Provides Long-lasting results (up to two years)
-
How Does Radiesse Work?
When Radiesse is injected, it immediately begins creating an under-the-skin “scaffold” at the same time that it stimulates your body’s collagen-creating process. Radiesse is made of gel that houses calcium microspheres that are suspended within the gel. These microspheres metabolize within the body as the Radiesse is absorbed, leaving behind plumper, more youthful-looking skin.
-
What are Radiesse Treatments Like?
Before the injections begin, we will clean and prep your skin. Using a needle, the injections will be administered beneath the skin — a process that takes 10-15 minutes. The Radiesse will be mixed with lidocaine, a local anesthetic to help numb discomfort during the injections, before it is administered.
-
Recovery
It’s recommended to reduce the risk of unnecessary bruising by refraining from taking blood thinners before treatment and applying ice or cold compresses afterward. Keep the area elevated and minimize strenuous activities.
- Daily activities can be resumed immediately after treatment (see above to minimize bruising)
- Because Radiesse is a thick consistency, the needle is larger and may bruise the skin more
- You may experience some redness, bruising, and swelling for approximately three days
- Your skin may temporarily appear unbalanced, over-filled, or lumpy
-
Results that improve with time
Immediately after your Radiesse treatment, you will be able to see some initial results, with the added volume smoothing away lines and creases. You will see more final results within about one week. However, Radiesse is unique in that it continues to encourage collagen production, resulting in continuous improvement.
Radiesse achieves longer-lasting results than almost any other filler, providing results for up to two years. As your body metabolizes the filler over time, results can be maintained with repeated treatments.

Who is a Good Candidate for Radiesse?
Radiesse is excellent for most patients who want a long-lasting dermal filler with plenty of lift to enhance the cheekbones, temples, and jawline, as well as those seeking to correct deep nasolabial folds.
Radiesse is not recommended for those who are pregnant, breastfeeding, under the age of 18, or for individuals who have an allergy to the ingredients.
Sculptra
-
What is Sculptra?
Sculptra is a dermal filler that helps to stimulate collagen production, resulting in a more youthful-looking complexion. It works by boosting your body's natural collagen production. Collagen is a protein that helps keep your skin youthful and firm, but your body produces less as you age.
Unlike other fillers that provide immediate results, Sculptra works gradually over time. This is because Sculptra is made up of poly-L-lactic acid, a biocompatible substance that helps to promote collagen production. As collagen production increases, your skin's texture and elasticity will improve, resulting in a more youthful, radiant complexion. -
Benefits of Sculptra
There are many benefits to choosing Sculptra as a skin rejuvenation treatment. Some of them include:
- Sculptra can provide results that last up to two years, making it a popular choice for those who want a long-term solution to facial volume loss
- Gradually increased volume for a more natural-looking appearance
- Collagen stimulation to improve skin texture and firmness over time
- Versatility by treating various concerns, including hollow cheeks, sunken temples, and deep wrinkles
- Little to no downtime, allowing patients to return to their normal activities immediately after treatment
-
Who is a Good Candidate for Sculptra?
Sculptra suits many candidates looking to address facial volume loss, wrinkles, and fine lines. The ideal candidate for Sculptra is typically someone who:
- Is in good overall health to minimize the risk of complications
- Has mild to moderate facial volume loss in areas such as the cheeks, temples, and chin
- Is not pregnant or breastfeeding
- Is not allergic to any of the ingredients in Sculptra
-
What to Expect During Treatment
Sculptra is injected into the skin in several treatments, usually spaced four to six weeks apart. The number of treatments you need will depend on your needs and goals.
During the procedure, our Top Injector will inject Sculptra into the areas of your face that need volume. The injections may cause discomfort, but we can use a topical anesthetic to minimize pain. After the injections, you can return to your normal activities right away. -
Aftercare and Recovery
You may experience swelling, redness, or bruising in the treated areas, but this should subside within a few days.
To minimize swelling and bruising, you should avoid the following for at least 24 hours after the procedure:
- Strenuous exercise
- Alcohol
- Blood-thinning medications
- Massaging or rubbing the treated areas
-
Results and Maintenance
Sculptra is designed to provide long-lasting results, with many patients experiencing improvements for up to two years or more. While the results of Sculptra are not immediate, you may start to see improvements in your skin's texture and firmness after a few weeks, with full results appearing gradually over several months.
Following a proper maintenance plan is essential to ensure the best possible results from your Sculptra treatment. This may include:
- Periodic touch-up treatments to maintain your results
- A good skin care regimen to keep your skin healthy and hydrated
- Avoiding sun exposure
- Maintaining an overall healthy lifestyle
-
Why Choose Beck Aesthetics for Sculptra?

PRFM
-
What is PRFM?
The platelet-rich fibrin matrix is created on the day of your treatment. A small amount of blood is drawn and then placed in a centrifuge to separate the PRP. After the platelet-rich plasma is separated, calcium chloride is added, creating the PRFM. The calcium chloride transforms the PRP into a soft gel, essentially creating a scaffolding that allows the growth factors in the PRFM to remain in the treatment area for longer.
-
What are the benefits of PRFM?
PRFM boosts the effects of PRP by holding the growth factors present in the PRFM in place in the treatment area. The product can produce enhanced healing and regeneration, with the PRFM remaining active for up to a week instead of being absorbed by the body in a day. PRFM produces improved results with PRP treatments. Some of the benefits include:
- Aids in the revitalization of your skin when used in skin rejuvenation treatments
- Helps to reduce the appearance of scars and wrinkles
- Can be used to treat hair loss
- Can be used to speed healing after a surgical enhancement
- Enhances the results of laser treatments for skin rejuvenation
-
The PRFM treatment
The procedure will depend on the area you want to restore. The basics of the process are as follows:
- Drawing the blood sample and placing it in the centrifuge for separation
- Applying a numbing agent to the treatment area
- Creating the platelet-rich fibrin matrix
- Injecting the PRFM into strategic points in the treatment area
- You will be given instructions to follow before your treatment and post-treatment care instructions. These instructions may include avoiding blood-thinners and alcohol before and directly after treatment and other instructions to help you achieve optimal results.
-
What does PRFM treat?
PRFM has the same versatility as PRP, with heightened effectiveness. PRFM treats a range of conditions, including:
- Restores skin firmness and quality with a natural gel rather than a synthetic filler
- Smoothing lines and wrinkles
- Enhances skin quality
- An effective hair loss treatment to trigger healthy hair growth
- Treats dark undereye circles
- A natural dermal filler, triggering cell regeneration
-
Am I a candidate for PRFM?
If you are considering skin rejuvenation treatments or hair loss therapy, then you might be a candidate for PRFM. Schedule a consultation at Beck Aesthetic Surgery to see if PRFM is right for you. The PRFM is created from your own blood, so the treatments carry little risk. PRFM makes it possible to smooth your skin without a natural substance.
-
PRP vs. PRFM –What’s the Difference?
PRFM is a more advanced version of PRP, enhancing the benefits and improving results. PRFM is created using a slower centrifuge, which better preserves the cells and growth factors and creates a “scaffolding.”
This scaffolding is called a fibrin matrix. It holds the platelets in the place where they are injected, allowing the age-defying growth factors to remain in the tissues for seven days or more.
-
Are there any side effects or downtime with PRFM?
There is no downtime or significant restrictions after PRFM treatments. You can return to your usual routine and activities, including gently showering and shampooing your hair. Wait for one day to resume hair growth topical medications.
Side effects may include minor swelling, tenderness or redness at the injection sites. These effects will fade quickly. -
When will I see results?
Results take time to develop, and multiple treatments are often required to achieve full results. You can expect to see visible results developing in the weeks following your treatment, which increases with each subsequent treatment. Your treatment schedule is based on the condition of your skin or hair, and what Dr. Beck believes can be achieved with this groundbreaking regenerative treatment. If you are planning a skin rejuvenation with laser treatments, the addition of PRFM can enhance your results, while speeding healing.
-

Tissue Replacement
-
What is Injectable Tissue Replacement?
Injectable tissue replacement and regeneration (ITR2) replaces decayed facial tissues by using “like tissues” to delay or slow the rate of tissue decay. Also known as facial fat grafting, this treatment moves fat from one part of the body to the face. Dr. Beck will analyze your facial topography and proportion to determine your specific losses of facial fat.
This innovative treatment provides a more youthful appearance and can also correct problems such as scarring. Injectable tissue replacement is commonly used in the following:
- Lips
- Folds that go from the corners of the mouth to the nose
- Under-eye areas
- Cheeks
Additionally, Dr. Beck can perform injectable tissue replacement simultaneously with other facial-rejuvenating procedures, such as a facelift or an eye lift.
-
Am I a Good Candidate for Injectable Tissue Replacement?
The ITR2 procedure is suitable for patients between the ages of 30-65 who want to reduce signs of aging in their faces. Generally, candidates should have no underlying conditions that could affect the success of their treatment and be in good overall health.
Ideal candidates for injectable tissue replacement are experiencing the following issues:
- Hollowing of the eyes
- Loss of tissue volume
- Deep lines on the forehead and between the eyebrows
- Sunken temples
- Swollen eye bags
- Lines that extend from nose to mouth
- Marionette lines, or deep lines adjacent to the mouth
- Lip volume loss
-
What are the Benefits of Injectable Tissue Replacement?
As an anti-aging treatment, injectable tissue replacement may be superior to traditional dermal fillers because of the more natural results that the procedure produces. There is also a reduced risk of unexpected reactions in patients because their fat plumps and volumizes facial tissues lost over time.
Some other benefits associated with injectable tissue replacement include:
- Significantly restored facial volume
- Addressed bone loss and deep tissues
- A biocompatible and natural rejuvenation option
- Improved skin texture and tone
- Reduced wrinkles and lines
- Fewer risks and side effects associated with facial fillers
Another benefit would be the stunning results provided by injectable tissue replacement. Results are long-lasting, up to four times the length of traditional facial fillers.
-
What is the Procedure for Injectable Tissue Replacement?
In preparation for facial fat grafting, patients should be at or near their desired weight so Dr. Beck can relocate fat successfully. Please discuss your medications with Dr. Beck at your initial consultation to evaluate whether those medications will interfere with the procedure.
After a local anesthetic is administered, a tiny incision removes fat from the donor area. This incision is made through the navel for easy access when the donor tissue is from the abdomen.
Once the cells are harvested, the tissue is carefully filtered through three stages:- Centrifugation, or mechanical agitation
- Washing and filtering
- Sedimentation, which uses gravity to separate the constituent parts of the fat
This filtration process cleanses, purifies and separates the fat into three different forms:
- Milifat: Adds facial structure
- Microfat: Smooths the facial area and triggers tissue formation
- Nanofat: Triggers cell growth at a high rate
- Centrifugation, or mechanical agitation
-
How Soon Will I See Results?
The advanced technology behind the injectable tissue replacement procedure is efficient and offers long-lasting, natural-looking rejuvenation. Additionally, long-term tissue regeneration continues after a complete facial fat transfer procedure. While initial healing can take a few weeks, most patients see their final results within six months of their treatment.
Depending on the area of treatment and factors such as genetics and lifestyle, the results of an injectable tissue replacement procedure can last for several years. Many patients also combine ITR2 and facelift, eyelid lift, or cheek augmentation treatments. -
Recovery after Injectable Tissue Replacement? After your procedure is complete, you may experience temporary facial discomfort, which is mild to moderate. Expect to take up to ten days off work to heal while you limit physical activity. Rest and recover as you allow the fat cells to integrate into your skin structure. We will provide aftercare instructions to help you heal faster during your recovery period.

How Does Tetra CO2 Work?

Lines, laxity, and other aesthetic concerns are visibly reduced and the overall tone and texture of the skin are dramatically improved.
The Tetra CO2 can effectively reduce the following concerns:
- Wrinkles, lines and creases
- Hyperpigmentation
- Sun damage
- Redness or inflammation
- Dryness and dullness
- Uneven or rough skin texture

- Large pores
-

There are many benefits of Tetra CO2 treatments for patients who want to renew their skin and refresh their appearance. Benefits include the following:
- Improved radiance and skin quality
- Lifted, tighter skin

-
Treatment Details: What to Expect
Treatment details are different for each patient, depending on their aesthetic goals and cosmetic needs. We will begin by examining your skin and discussing your desires for improvement. We will design a treatment plan for you and discuss the details, including pre/post-procedure aspects and what you can expect during the treatment.
Before your treatment, be sure to stay out of the sun for at least two weeks. Discontinue the use of retinols and glycolic or salicylic acids. On the day of your treatment, we will cleanse your skin and apply a topical anesthetic. We will pass the laser over the skin.
For more significant concerns, aggressive treatments will be required. These are performed in fewer sessions and require more downtime. Less aggressive treatments will be performed in a series of treatments, and each will involve less downtime.
-

What is the Difference Between CO2 Tetra Fractional Laser and CoolPeel?
Both Tetra CO2 and CoolPeel treatments are performed with the same highly versatile laser. However, the treatments are different.
Tetra CO2 Laser Resurfacing
Tetra CO2 laser is a highly effective procedure that smooths, rejuvenates, and brightens the skin, reaching deeper levels of the skin for a profound renewal. This versatile laser offers a traditional strength and a milder CoolPeel setting.
CoolPeel
CoolPeel addresses the external, uppermost layer of skin, targeting intermittent parts of the face while leaving areas of untreated skin in between. CoolPeel uses a very short pulse of light, reducing heat buildup in the skin–resulting in less damage. CoolPeel results in minimal downtime compared with traditional CO2 laser resurfacing.
Which is best for you? It is important to discuss which treatment is best suited to your needs during a consultation at Beck Aesthetic Surgery. We will examine your skin and understand your aesthetic goals, then recommend the right treatment to help you achieve your ideal, beautiful, radiant skin.

- Chemical peels: Chemical peels can instantly brighten dull skin, improve skin texture, and smooth lines and creases.
- ZO 3-Step peel: This ZO® Skin Health peel is a three-step process that exfoliates, stimulates collagen, and soothes the skin.
- ZO Controlled Depth peel: Our ZO Controlled Depth peel treats severe laxity, texture damage, and advanced melasma. This treatment is administered by our board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Beck.
-
What is CoolPeel? This innovative treatment safely and comfortably delivers all of the benefits of traditional CO2 laser resurfacing without the discomfort and downtime traditionally associated with them. CoolPeel is a new gold standard in wrinkle, age spot and acne scar reduction and treatment and its innovative precision and control give you all the skin resurfacing benefits without any of the risks and minimal downtime.
The CoolPeel® laser treatment is performed with the advanced SmartXide Tetra CO2 laser. Its output is controlled, delivering high energy in short pulses to achieve skin resurfacing results without lingering heat that damages the surrounding skin and requires downtime. This is why the treatment is called “cool” peel. -
The CoolPeel Difference
CoolPeel uses fractional CO2 laser to safely remove a very fine top-layer of skin, while producing controlled micro-wounds that stimulate the production of elastin and collagen—two natural growth factors your skin needs for extended health and youthfulness. CoolPeel is a non-invasive facial treatment that leads to a vastly improved appearance of your skin, helping to refine, restore and brighten the complexion of dull or lackluster skin. Unlike other harsh peels, CoolPeel does this while not damaging or compromising the natural functions and beauty of the skin. CoolPeel can be done on a large variety of skin types in order to correct many of the most common skin conditions including acne, hyperpigmentation, sun-damage, rosacea, and inflammation.
-
How CoolPeel Works
Yes, it’s called Cool for a very good reason. CoolPeel can only be done using one particular laser, and it’s the latest and most advanced CO2 laser on the market (the SmartXide Tetra from global aesthetic technology leader, DEKA.) This is the only CO2 laser that can control its output well enough to deliver the high amount of energy in very short pulses — a combination that makes impressive superficial skin resurfacing possible without the lingering heat that would otherwise damage your skin. The absence of unnecessary heat is why it’s called Cool, and is how you get the immediate aesthetic effect with minimal downtime.
-
Benefits of CoolPeel
- Eliminates fine lines
- Reduces wrinkles
- Minimizes sun damage and pore size
- Improve skin texture
- Requires little to no downtime
- Safely resurfaces your skin
- Improves the appearance of aged and sun-damaged skin
- Tightens loose skin and minimizes stretch marks
- Minimizes scars and softens acne scars
-
What is a CoolPeel treatment like?
We will start with a numbing cream for comfort. We will pass the laser over the skin, where it treats the skin at a rapid rate. This rapid application prevents damage to other surrounding areas, significantly decreasing downtime while achieving outstanding results.
-
Which Areas Can Be Treated with CoolPeel?
CoolPeel can be safely applied to the hands, face, and neck, effectively addressing a wide range of skin concerns, including the following:
- Wrinkles and fine lines
- Sun damage
- Hyperpigmentation
- Large pores
- Acne scars
-
Who is a good candidate for a coolpeel?
If you are hoping to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage and hyperpigmentation and minimize your pores while improving your skin tone and skin texture, you’re a good candidate for a CoolPeel laser treatment.
During your CoolPeel treatment, you’ll feel warmth and a mild, easily bearable tenderness. To ensure your treatment is comfortable, we will provide a numbing cream ahead of time.
-
How many CoolPeel treatments do I need?
Every person is unique and has their own skin concerns and their own aesthetic goals for their skin. In general, we recommend 3-6 laser treatments performed 4-6 weeks apart. After each treatment session, you will notice marked improvements in your complexion and the radiance of your skin.
-
What is recovery like?
CoolPeel treatments require little to no downtime. Expect mild redness for 24 to 48 hours, similar to a natural sunburn. This redness is typically uniform enough to look natural and doesn’t prevent people from comfortably returning immediately to their personal and professional activities. Your skin will also feel dry, so remaining hydrated is important.
-
When will I start to see results?
Unlike other laser resurfacing treatments, CoolPeel will not cause heavy scabbing or peeling. For a day or two, your skin will be red, as if you have a sunburn. As your skin heals, it will feel dry and scaly. It’s important to keep it hydrated during this time.
You will notice a new glow and vitality in your skin after 3-4 days. Your pores appear smaller, winkles fade, and blemishes are reduced, leaving your skin glowing and refreshed. -
What is the Difference Between CoolPeel and CO2 Tetra Fractional Laser?
Both CoolPeel and Tetra CO2 treatments are performed using the same advanced, versatile laser. However, the treatments are performed differently.
CoolPeel
CoolPeel is modulated to address the uppermost layers of the skin, targeting the surface. The laser addresses intermittent parts of the skin’s surface, leaving areas of untreated skin in between. The laser treatment is performed with very short pulses of light. This results in the reduction of heat buildup in the skin, which means there is less skin damage. Compared with the recovery period after traditional CO2 resurfacing, CoolPeel requires minimal downtime.
Tetra CO2 Laser Resurfacing
Tetra CO2 laser is an advanced, highly effective skin resurfacing procedure that smooths, refreshes, and brightens the skin. During this treatment, the Tetra CO2 laser reaches more deeply into the skin to address the underlying layers of the dermis. The results are a more dramatic, effective renewal. Tetra CO2 treatments are versatile, ensuring the treatments can be customized to your needs.
Which laser treatment is best for you? The only way to determine which treatment is the most ideal for your needs is during an in-depth, thoughtful consultation at Beck Aesthetic Surgery. During your consultation, we will examine your skin and discuss your skin concerns. We will understand your aesthetic goals and recommend the best laser treatment to help you achieve the luminous, beautiful skin you desire.

What is Laser Hair Reduction?
Our painless laser hair reduction in Charlotte, NC is a fast and virtually painless procedure that destroys hair follicles at their roots, preventing them from continuing to grow hair. This means your skin is smooth, soft, and ready to go for the long term. At the Beck Aesthetic Surgery medspa, we utilize the Motus AY, a cutting-edge proprietary laser device and the new laser of choice for hair reduction.
-
How Laser Hair Reduction Works
Laser hair reduction utilizes a scientifically designed laser to target and heat the hair follicles in the skin, which renders them unable to produce hair. Laser hair reduction can be done anywhere on the body, targeting:
- Leg hair
- Facial hair
- Back hair
- Arm hair
- Underarm hair
- Upper lip hair
- Neck and beard hair
- The bikini area
- Hair on the fingers and toes
-
Benefits of the Motus AY
- Treatments are virtually pain-free
- Fewer and shorter treatment sessions are required
- Great for all skin types and ethnicities
- Reduces 50-90% of hair
- Achieves faster results
-
The Motus AY: The Best in Laser Hair Reduction
Manufactured by Europe’s top aesthetic laser manufacturer, the Motus AY overcomes limitations that previous lasers had that prevented the quick, successful removal of fine or light hair. Using Moveo technology and a handpiece that delivers faster, more efficient energy, the Motus AY makes it possible even for patients with darker skin to benefit from laser hair reduction virtually painlessly and without side effects.
-
Your Consultation
Laser hair reduction begins with an assessment of your skin type and hair color to determine which type of laser will be most effective and the number of treatments you will need. We generally recommend starting with six treatments, but more may be necessary.
When laser hair reduction first became available, it was only suitable for those with fair skin and dark hair because the laser would only target dark pigment. With today’s advances in science, virtually painless laser hair reduction in Charlotte, NC, is effective on a wider range of hair colors. However, laser hair reduction is not effective on white, gray, blonde or red hair.
-
What to Expect During Treatment
The laser hair reduction procedure will begin with an application of cooling gel, and we will provide eye protection. The laser is then applied to the treatment area or areas. You may experience a slight stinging or burning sensation as the laser works, but the majority of patients find the treatment very tolerable. The technology reduces any discomfort typically associated with laser hair reduction.
Depending on the size of the area to be treated, your treatment will require a bit more or less time but are not typically lengthy. The number of treatments needed varies from person to person. A typical treatment regimen is six or more sessions, each spaced about a month apart, depending on which area is being treated.
An Aesthetician at Beck Aesthetic Surgery in NC introduces the Motus AY for Laser Hair Reduction -
Results After Laser Hair Reduction Treatments
You will notice less hair after the first laser hair reduction treatment. Once the full series of treatments are complete and all the hairs in the area have been treated by the laser during their growth phase, you will be able to enjoy your final results–a significant reduction of unwanted hair and the prevention of future hair growth.
During the healing process after your treatments, protect your vulnerable skin from direct sub and use high SPF sunscreen. Do not pluck, tweeze or shave the treated area during the healing phase. -
Am I a Candidate?
We are excited to offer this convenient treatment to the Charlotte, NC area. The Motus AY is safe and effective for light and dark skin types. If you want to be free of unwanted hair, you are a likely candidate for our advanced laser hair reduction treatment. To determine if you’re a candidate and which type of treatment is best for your needs, please schedule a consultation with us in order for us to decide on the right laser for your needs.

What is BBL HERO?
BBL HERO represents the next generation of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), which safely and effectively treats skin concerns such as acne, hyperpigmentation, freckles, redness, age spots, and more. BBL HERO goes beyond the traditional BBL technology and creates incredible results at four times the speed with twice the cooling ability and three times the power. What does this mean? Your treatment will be faster, the results will be more significant, and the experience will be more comfortable.
BBL HERO utilizes IPL to heat the layers of your skin. This causes the skin to tighten and constrict, which reduces fine lines and wrinkles, and triggers the production of collagen and elastin to rejuvenate the skin. The light energy is absorbed by pigmented areas, which are then destroyed so that they can be naturally cleared away by the body. -
Benefits of BBL HERO treatments
BBL HERO, also called BBL HERO BODY, treatments provide a large number of benefits and can be used performed anywhere on the body. BBL is such a popular treatment because of its many benefits, which include the following:
- Short, simple treatment
- Downtime is minimal
- Reverses sun damage
- Reduces fine lines and wrinkles
- Reduces redness, including rosacea and fine veins
- Increases the production of collagen
- Provides a more even skin tone and texture
- Reduces discoloration and pigmentation concerns
- Rejuvenated, more youthful-looking skin
- Treats the face and any part of the body
-
Am I a candidate for Forever Young BBL HERO treatments?
Men or women who would like to achieve healthy, fresh, and glowing skin are likely good candidates for Forever Young BBL HERO treatments.
Ideal candidates meet the following requirements:
- have light to medium skin tones
- are in good health
- have not tanned their skin in the past several weeks
- have signs of age they would like to treat, including pigmentation concerns, broken blood vessels, visible veins, diffused redness, blotchiness, sun damage, and brown spots
-
Recovery after Forever Young BBL HERO treatments
Immediately after your treatment, any pigmented spots or lesions will get darker. This is a sign that the BBL light reached the targeted part of your skin successfully. The darkness will fade, and your skin will fully heal within one to two weeks.
Downtime is minimal after BBL. Your skin may be sensitive, and it’s important to protect it from direct sun. Many patients feel comfortable resuming their usual routine and activities within a day after their treatment. When you are outside, even out of the direct sun, use sunscreen liberally. -

-
What is the difference between IPL and BBL?
BBL and IPL are similar rejuvenation treatments, but there are key differences. IPL (Intense Pulsed Light Therapy) uses high-intensity light to achieve firmer, younger-looking skin with a more radiant tone and smooth skin texture. IPL therapy heats the upper layers of the skin to stimulate the body to produce new collagen, resulting in a natural, youthful glow.
BBL (BroadBand Light Therapy) is the next generation of IPL. BBL is a safer and more effective treatment for repairing sun damage, reversing the signs of age, and renewing and refreshing the complexion. With BBL, treatments can be customized and controlled, allowing treatment for a broader range of skin concerns, all without downtime. BBL represents the safest, most effective form of IPL rejuvenation. -
Forever Young BBL
Forever Young BBL Hero treatments help achieve beautiful, luminous skin, reducing the signs of age. Forever Young BBL uses multiple passes at a lower energy level. Forever Young BBL uses lower energy for the first 200 pulses to work on the skin's genetic expression and cellular regenerative abilities. The significant boost in collagen production helps restructure and rebuild the skin from the inside out, keeping you looking “Forever Young.”
-
Forever Clear BBL
Harnessing the remarkable abilities of Broadband Light™, Forever Clear BBL kick-starts your body’s healing system to fight acne, oily skin, and large pores.
Forever Clear BBL effectively reduces inflammation, kills acne-causing bacteria, and creates cell regeneration to repair acne lesions. The result is skin that is clearer, refreshed, and more healthy. Nearly any teenager or adult who experiences acne, oily skin, or enlarged pores is an excellent candidate for Forever Clear BBL. -
Forever Clear’s Three-Light Approach
This advanced treatment utilizes three levels of light energy — blue, yellow, and infrared — to deliver healthier skin.
BLUE: Destroys the bacteria that causes acne, killing it from deep inside the pores
YELLOW: Gets rid of skin redness by reducing inflammation
INFRARED: Stimulates the body’s organic healing process, regenerating cells and repairing acne lesions
-
Downtime and Results
Some patients have slight redness of the skin where the laser passed for the remainder of the day, but makeup should easily hide any pink skin. For the next couple of days after your treatment, your skin may feel dry because the oil is decreasing. In more rare cases, patients have temporarily experienced tingling, swelling, tenderness, irritation, and/or darkened patches on the skin. If you’re concerned about any of these side effects, please bring them up during your consultation with us.
-
Forever Clear BBL Treatment Details
Treatments with the Forever Clear BBL laser are comfortable and convenient. Before your treatment begins, your skin will be cleaned, and we will give you eye shields to keep your eyes safe from the laser flashes.
As the handheld instrument goes over your skin, quick bursts of light will be emitted into your skin. This feels like a light, warm prickling on top of the dermis. When the treatment is complete, you can return to your regular day. -
How Many Forever Clear Treatments are Needed?
This will depend on your aesthetic concerns, goals, and the severity of your condition. During your consultation with us, we will let you know how many treatments you will need. We typically recommend a series of six treatments performed two weeks apart, with follow-up treatments every three to six months.

About the Motus AY Laser Facial
The Beck Aesthetic Surgery medspa in Charlotte, NC is proud to offer one of the most advanced, effective, and painless laser facials available: the Motus AY laser facial. This laser is manufactured by Europe’s leading aesthetic systems manufacturer, DEKA, and is the first high-speed alexandrite laser that is equally beneficial for both light and dark skin types.
-
What the Motus AY Laser Facial Treats
The Motus AY technology is perfect for laser hair reduction and treatment of:
- Pigmented lesions
- Small leg veins
- Vascular lesions on the skin
-
Effective for Light and Dark Skin
One of the greatest advantages of the Motus AY laser facial is that it’s equally effective on light and dark skin types. Most traditional lasers are effective when darkly-pigmented hair follicles are set against minimally-pigmented or light skin because the laser focuses on the difference in contrast, with the pigment in the hair follicles absorbing the laser energy and effectively destroying the hair. However, individuals with less contrast between their skin and hair — or those with darker skin types — have had to settle for less effective treatments. Motus AY overcomes that limitation.
-
How Does Motus AY Laser Facial Work?
The Motus AY laser facial device is based on proprietary Moveo technology. The Moveo handheld device gradually heats the vital regions of the hair with small back-and-forth movements, delivering just enough heat to affect the hair follicles without burning surrounding skin tissues. As the cool sapphire tip of the device moves back and forth, it destroys the hair follicles, pigmented lesions, vascular lesions, superficial leg veins, and other such cosmetic anomalies.
-
What to Expect During a Laser Facial
Laser facial treatments with the Motus AY are incredibly effective. We will cleanse your skin and provide eye protection before the procedure begins. The handheld device moves quickly across the skin, delivering laser pulses as it goes. The Moveo technology used by Motus AY completely eliminates the discomfort associated with traditional laser treatments. Even though the Motus AY procedure involves delivering thermal energy to your skin and hair follicles, it does so gradually to eliminate the “rubber-band” effect caused by most laser treatments. You may even feel a slight cooling sensation because of the sapphire tip of the device.
With traditional laser treatments, about five sessions are needed for optimal results, followed by regular maintenance sessions. However, the Motus AY laser facial is far more effective and requires only three to six sessions to see optimal results. -
Downtime and Results
Depending on what the laser is focusing on, you may experience slightly red skin for a few hours, or even a day. You may also feel a slight sunburn sensation. Pigmented areas that were treated will at first become darker over the course of two days, and then will slough off in the next week or so. Vascular lesions will fade.
We will give you home care instructions to help you heal smoothly and get the best results possible. Your specific results will be determined by your skin type and your unique skin concerns.
-
Am I a Candidate?
One of the biggest breakthrough advantages of the Motus AY laser facial is that it’s equally safe and effective for light and dark skin tones. If you’re in the Charlotte, NC area and you’re interested in learning more about this advanced technology, an in-person consultation with our team will determine if a laser facial or another treatment will be best for you.
In general, those who make the best candidates for a Motus AY laser facial are those who:
- Have excess facial hair, pigmented or vascular lesions, or small visible veins
- Need a quick and efficient treatment that requires no downtime

Once your skin is numb, the cream will be removed and the procedure will begin. The handheld microneedling device will pass over your skin multiple times, creating tiny punctures into the dermis. You’ll feel it, but the numbing cream will help. The majority of patients find microneedling to be very tolerable. No heat is applied during the treatment, with almost no risk of hyperpigmentation. We recommend a series of microneedling treatments to build on your new collagen and get the best results.
-
Microneedling with AnteAGE
We standardly combine our microneedling treatments with AnteAGE brightening solution to enhance and elevate our patients’ results. This unique approach achieves more dramatic results, utilizing the AnteAGE stem and growth factor cytokines derived from human bone marrow.
When combined with AnteAGE technology, microneedling is the most natural and powerful way to revitalize the skin, achieving radiant, luminous results. -
How is the AnteAGE Brightening Solution combined with microneedling?
AnteAGE Brightening Solution is designed to enhance and maximize microneedling results using a powerful combination of rejuvenating growth factors and cytokines, Tranexamic Acid, and other melanin synthesis blocking factors.
This brightening formula was designed to address eight pigmentation pathways to effectively correct uneven skin tone and discoloration at the cellular level, and promote a naturally brighter, more refreshed complexion. -
Microneedling with PFRM
Microneedling in Charlotte, NC can be performed alone, or you can add PFRM to speed up natural healing and recovery time, trigger cell regeneration, and enhance results. PRFM is unique and elevates the microneedling treatment. A combination of PFRM and microneedling is among the most effective non-surgical anti-aging procedures available.
-
The difference between PRFM and PRP
PRFM is derived differently than PRP. Like PRP (platelet-rich plasma), PRFM (platelet-rich fibrin matrix) is taken from your own blood. Your plasma contains platelets that are rich in growth factors. With PRF, the plasma is separated from the blood in a slower centrifuge than it is during PRP separation. This protects the platelets from damage and allows some of the white blood cells and stem cells to remain in the treatment substance. This is why PRFM contains more healing factors.
These growth factors repair and regenerate skin tissue and help with the production of collagen and elastin. When used in concert with microneedling, PFRM helps the skin become even healthier, firmer, tighter, and more youthful. -
What happens during microneedling with PRFM?
Your blood will be drawn, then placed into a centrifuge (spinning machine) to purify and separate the PFRM. This will then be applied to your skin during microneedling for enhanced results. The application of PRFM accelerates the skin-regenerating effect, softens fine lines and wrinkles, improves pore size, enhances skin texture, and triggers higher levels of collagen and elastin production.
-
Recovery from Microneedling
Although there are no physical restrictions after a microneeding treatment, your skin will be inflamed afterward. It will be pink and perhaps scratchy-looking for one to two days, and you may also experience pinpoint bleeding for an hour or so. Avoid using anything on your skin for the rest of the day in order to get the best benefits from microneedling.
-
Results
You will see smoother, more radiant skin within days after your procedure. The increased collagen and elastin that is triggered during treatment develops over time, continuing to regenerate for four to six weeks following your treatment. This new collagen looks better and better when it’s built upon, which is why multiple treatments are recommended.

What happens during a microneedling treatment with AnteAGE Brightening Solution?
AnteAGE Brightening Solution was formulated to be used in combination with microneedling treatments to maximize results. AnteAGE Brightening Solution contains powerful rejuvenating growth factors and cytokines, Tranexamic Acid, and other melanin synthesis blocking factors.
This brightening microneedling treatment was formulated to attack eight different pigmentation pathways. This is how it effectively corrects uneven skin tone and encourages a naturally brighter, more refreshed complexion while targeting discoloration at the cellular level. -
Enhance Virtue RF Microneedling with PFRM
For patients who would like to enhance their results, PFRM (platelet-rich fibrin matrix) can be included with Virtue RF microneedling to enhance results. PRFM is a unique treatment that can speed up natural healing and cell regeneration, improve recovery time, and elevate the microneedling treatment. A combination of PFRM and microneedling is among the most effective non-surgical anti-aging procedures available.
Like PRP (platelet-rich plasma), PRFM is derived from your own blood. The plasma in the blood contains platelets that are rich in growth factors. When separating PRFM from the blood, the process is done using a slower centrifuge speed than is used to separate PRP. This slower process protects the platelets from damage and allows white blood cells and stem cells to remain. The result is richer healing factors contained in PRFM, which more effectively repair and regenerate skin tissue and boost collagen and elastin.
Combined with microneedling, PFRM achieves healthier, firmer, more beautiful and youthful skin, softening fine lines and wrinkles, reducing pore size, and improving skin texture and tone. -
What does VirtueRF Microneedling treat?
VirtueRF Microneedling treats a range of common skin concerns and conditions, including:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Large pores
- Skin laxity and sagging skin
- Uneven skin textures
- Pigmentation spots
- Acne scars and other scars
-
What happens during the VirtueRF procedure?
Our expert aestheticians start by cleansing your skin and then applying a topical anesthetic, making the procedure comfortable and virtually pain-free. The microneedling handset is then used to create the controlled micro-punctures. As they puncture the surface they also deliver the radiofrequency energy into your dermis to trigger collagen production, tighten your skin, and release an infusion of growth factors. This procedure is repeated for all treatment areas.
-
VirtueRF Microneedling recovery
Following treatment, you’ll be able to resume your daily activities within 24 hours. Your skin will likely appear pinkish for up to two days. You’ll see immediate results that only get better, with an additional gradual improvement unveiling the best look and feel within a few weeks. Your skin continues to improve for several months, while collagen and elastin production continue. Your results can last as long as 5 years, though you will likely benefit from occasional maintenance treatments.
-

Chemical Peels
-
What is a Chemical Peel?
A chemical peel can be instrumental in removing dirt, debris, oil, and makeup from the skin. The topmost layer of dead skin cells is peeled away, revealing a fresher, more revitalized complexion underneath. Chemical peels leave the skin softer, healthier, and more inviting, boosting your self-image so you feel less self-conscious in social situations.
-
Different Types of Chemical Peels Available
PCA peel: PCA peels are a type of chemical peel formulated by the manufacturer PCA Skin. A PCA peel effectively addresses a range of skin concerns at once.
The PCA peel is a modified version of the Jessner peel, which is a milder type of peel. Jessner peels are generally ideal for patients with darker skin tones. PCA peels blend the Jessner peel with a TCA peel, which is a middle-strength peel, to target mid-to-deep layers of the skin, achieving combined yet refined results from both the Jessner and TCA peel ingredients. A PCA peel is used to improve skin tone and texture, reduce scarring, minimize pores, and reduce wrinkles and other signs of age.
Each PCA peel is completely customized for each client. A cocktail of boosters is added to address your specific skin concerns. PCA peels are ideal for all ages and ethnicities and can be customized to effectively treat any type of skin concern or issue. Everyone can benefit from PCA peels.
cosmelan® peel: cosmelan® is more than a chemical peel. The cosmelan® peel method removes hyperpigmentation while regulating the overproduction of pigmentation to prevent the reappearance of spots and flaws. The cosmelan® peel is the gold standard for treating stubborn pigmentation and melasma.
Including four powerful phases, the cosmelan® chemical peel targets the surface and deeper layers of the skin to address the problem while simultaneously addressing the origin.
SkinCeuticals Peels: We provide the Smart TCA Peel from SkinCeuticals to dramatically reduce wrinkles and fine lines, reduce the size of pores, tighten the skin, and reduce hyperpigmentation.
The TCA Smart Peel is a blend of 15% Trichloroacetic Acid with 3% Glycolic Acid. This blend is ideal for all skin types and most skin tones I-IV on the Fitzpatrick Scale. The Smart TCA Peel treatment includes a Restorative Masque that soothes the skin immediately after the peel.
The TCA Smart Peel improves all types of skin, including dry, normal, oily, and combination skin. This peel targets blotchiness, discoloration, wrinkles and fine lines, and other concerns.

Preparing for a Chemical Peel
Before your chemical peel treatment, we will perform a physical evaluation and review of your medical history. It’s important that you disclose any medications or previous treatments. We may recommend several creams, gels, or lotions to use prior to your chemical peel that can help prepare the skin for exfoliation. You may also need to take antiviral medications if you have a history of cold sores.
-
What Happens During a Chemical Peel?
Before your chemical peel begins, we will cleanse your skin to prepare it for treatment. We will then apply the peel directly to your skin, and as it begins to dry, you may experience some tingling or burning. This is normal and means that the peel is doing its job, but do let us know if you’re too uncomfortable. Once the peel has been on your skin for the right amount of time, we will remove it and begin infusing your skin with topical products to enhance your results.
-
Ideal Candidates for a Chemical Peel
Almost anyone is an ideal candidate for a chemical peel. We have a peel for every ethnicity, skin type, and skin condition.
Your candidacy will be reviewed in depth during your private consultation for a chemical peel in Charlotte, NC, but in general, those who make good candidates for a chemical peel are those who are looking for an anti-aging treatment that can address hyperpigmentation, melasma, acne, PIH, uneven skin texture, large pores, fine lines and wrinkles, vertical lip lines, and other signs of age, you may be a great candidate.
Generally, ideal candidates for a chemical peel:
- Aren’t achieving the results they seek with over-the-counter skincare products
- Want to prolong the results of other skin rejuvenation procedures
- Do not have a history of abnormal skin scarring
- Skin color is I-IV on the Fitzpatrick Scale
-
What Happens After a Chemical Peel?
The recovery time for your treatment will depend on the depth of your chemical peel. With a light peel you can return to normal activities right away, whereas a cosmelan® peel will require prolonged healing. After all peels, you’ll need to avoid sun exposure until the redness in your complexion has faded — and going forward, you’ll need to use sunscreen to help preserve and protect your results.

What makes a medical-grade facial different than a regular facial? Medical-grade facials are performed with products and tools approved for medical use only. The purpose of these facials is to treat and improve the skin from both a medical and health perspective, addressing deep concerns with your skin and renewing your skin from the inside out. The products used for medical-grade facials are not available to the general public. Using these more sophisticated treatments, we can more effectively and dramatically renew and refresh your skin, achieving glowing, luminous effects.

Your clinical facial experience
You will start with a consultation with our skin experts–medical aestheticians with advanced training to analyze and treat your skin. They will examine your skin and determine which of our advanced medical facials is best suited for your needs and skincare goals.
They will design a custom facial to treat your specific needs and help you achieve beautiful, healthy skin. They may also recommend other treatments to complement your medical facial, such as laser resurfacing or injectable treatments. -
What skincare concerns can clinical facial treat?
Clinical facials improve the healthy, supple look and feel of the skin, but they are not designed to treat deep wrinkles, significantly sagging skin, or other more significant skin conditions. However, clinical facials can provide a healthier, youthful-looking glow.
A clinical facial addresses a range of skincare concerns to achieve more radiant, beautiful skin, including the following:
- Acne scars
- Certain types of acne
- Rough skin
- Uneven skin texture
- Age spots
- Freckles
- Dark areas
- Fine lines and mild wrinkles

Renuvion
-
What is Renuvion?
Renuvion, or J-Plasma, is a minimally invasive procedure that can be performed under local anesthesia. During the treatment, a small incision is made in the skin, and a thin wand is inserted beneath the surface. The wand then delivers precise energy to the treatment area, causing the skin to contract and tighten. The helium gas cools the skin, minimizing discomfort and reducing the risk of burns.
Renuvion delivers a controlled burst of energy to the skin using a small wand-like device. This energy causes the collagen fibers in the skin to contract, tightening the skin and reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
The procedure is minimally invasive and can be performed under local anesthesia. Recovery time is typically short, with most patients able to return to their normal activities within a few days. -
What are the Benefits of Renuvion for Facial Rejuvenation?
There are many benefits to using Renuvion for facial rejuvenation. Here are just a few:
- Tightens loose skin: Renuvion can help tighten loose skin on the face, neck, and jowls, giving you a more youthful appearance.
- Reduces wrinkles and fine lines: By stimulating collagen production, Renuvion can help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
- Minimal downtime: Unlike more invasive procedures, Renuvion requires little downtime, with most patients able to return to normal activities within a few days.
- Long-lasting results: The results of Renuvion can last for several years, making it a cost-effective option for facial rejuvenation.
-
Who is a Good Candidate for Renuvion?
It's important to note that Renuvion is not a one-size-fits-all solution. Your results may vary, and treatment should not be seen as a replacement for healthy habits such as a balanced diet and regular exercise.
Renuvion is ideal for people with mild to moderate skin laxities, such as loose, sagging skin on your face, neck, or jowls. However, you may need a more extensive procedure like a facelift or fat transfer if you have severe skin laxity or significant facial volume loss.
Some other candidacy factors include the following:
- While Renuvion can be performed on people of all ages, it is most effective for people in their 30s to 60s. This is because younger people have more elastic skin that can bounce back more easily, and older people may have more severe skin laxity that requires a more extensive procedure.
- It is essential to be in good overall health before undergoing Renuvion. This means you should be a non-smoker, have no severe medical conditions, and be at a stable weight.
- You should be committed to maintaining your results. While the procedure can tighten and lift the skin, it is not a miracle cure for aging. After the procedure, you may still have some fine lines and wrinkles, and your results will not last forever. However, if you take good care of your skin after the procedure, you can enjoy a more youthful appearance for many years.
-
What to Expect During Renuvion Treatment
Before the procedure, we will administer local anesthesia to ensure your comfort throughout the treatment. You may feel some pressure or mild discomfort, but it should not be painful. We may also provide medication to help you relax during the procedure.
During the Renuvion procedure, we’ll use a small wand-like device to deliver a combination of helium gas and radiofrequency energy to the treatment area. This energy causes the skin to contract, resulting in a tighter, more youthful appearance. The treatment usually takes between 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the size of the treatment area.
Afterward, you may experience some swelling and bruising in the treatment area. This is normal and should subside within a few days. You may also experience mild discomfort, which can be managed with over-the-counter pain medication. -
Aftercare
To ensure optimal results:
- Avoid strenuous activity and excessive sun exposure for at least a week after the procedure
- Avoid wearing makeup or applying any skincare products to the treatment area for the first few days after the treatment
- Follow our aftercare instructions carefully, which may include applying a special cream or ointment to the treatment area and using cold compresses to reduce swelling
- Attend all follow-up appointments and communicate any concerns or questions you may have.

-
LED Light Therapy
LED (or Light Emitting Diode) Therapy is available in different wavelengths as an added benefit during your HydraFacial treatment, to treat a variety of skin problems. Blue light is particularly effective at zapping bacteria, which causes breakouts and blemishes for a brighter complexion. Red light is beneficial for anti-aging, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin to smooth lines and wrinkles, improve uneven skin tone and hyperpigmentation, and firm aging skin that is beginning to lose its elasticity. LED light therapy can enhance the skin-beautifying benefits of our other treatments.
-
Dermaplaning

Recovery following facial treatments
Recovery from a customized Hydrafacial or our custom clinical facial will vary depending on what therapy was performed on your skin. The majority of our facial treatments have little to no recovery time. After your treatment, ensure you apply a moisturizer with sunscreen to protect your skin from the sun’s damaging ultraviolet rays. If you have had a chemical peel, you will experience peeling as the skin sheds in the days following your treatment, which subsides within a week.
